Sunrooms

Custom Sunrooms Built for Wisconsin Living

If you’ve spent any time on a Wisconsin patio in July, you know the drill — gorgeous evening, cold beverage in hand, and then the mosquitoes find you. A sunroom changes that equation entirely. You get the outdoor feeling without the bugs, the wind, or the surprise afternoon thunderstorm rolling in off the lake.

M2 Decks & Enclosures designs and installs custom sunrooms for homeowners across southeast and south-central Wisconsin. We’re a Betterliving Authorized Dealer based in Mukwonago, and we’ve built sunrooms from Milwaukee to Madison, Kenosha to Sheboygan, and everywhere in between. Whether you’re looking at a 3-season aluminum sunroom for spring-through-fall use or a fully insulated 4-season vinyl sunroom you can heat and cool year-round, we’ll help you figure out what makes sense for your home and your budget.

Why a Sunroom Makes Sense in Wisconsin

Our summers are short. Everyone who lives here knows it. You get maybe five solid months of comfortable outdoor weather — if you’re generous with the definition of “comfortable.” A sunroom stretches that window dramatically.

A 3-season room gets you comfortable use from roughly April through November. A 4-season room? That’s a year-round living space, period. Imagine watching the snow come down over Pewaukee Lake from a heated, glass-walled room with a cup of coffee. That’s what we’re talking about.

Beyond the lifestyle upgrade, sunrooms add real square footage to your home. They increase usable living space without the cost and disruption of a full addition. And because Betterliving sunrooms are engineered as modular systems — manufactured in Souderton, PA, and assembled on-site — the installation timeline is significantly shorter than stick-built construction.

3-Season vs. 4-Season: Which One Is Right for You?

This is the first question most homeowners ask, and the honest answer depends on how you plan to use the space.

3-Season Sunrooms use 3-inch extruded aluminum wall systems. You can choose Low-E argon-filled tempered insulated glass or single-pane glass. They’re not designed to be heated or cooled — think of them as a high-end enclosed porch. Frame colors include White, Desert Sand, and Earthstone. These rooms come with a 50-year transferable warranty.

4-Season Sunrooms step up to 4-inch-plus wall systems built from vinyl reinforced with aluminum and steel. Double-pane Low-E argon-filled glass (Betterliving 366 Glass) comes standard. These rooms are insulated well enough to tie into your home’s HVAC system. Frame colors are White and Desert Sand. Same 50-year transferable warranty.

If you want a space to entertain from spring through fall, go 3-season. If you want a true addition — a home office, a dining room, a year-round living space — go 4-season.

Ceiling Options That Actually Look Good

One thing that sets Betterliving apart is the Ceiling Plank System. You get eight color choices: Rustic Pine, Natural Cherry, Bamboo, Weathered, Beadboard, White Wash, Classic White, and Painted White.

These aren’t cheap drop-ceiling panels; they look like real finished ceilings. Most of our customers in Brookfield, Delafield, and Oconomowoc go with the wood-tone options because they complement the lake-country aesthetic.

Pair Your Sunroom With the Right Accessories

A sunroom is the foundation. From there, you can add retractable screens for convertible ventilation, 4-track stacking windows for flexible airflow, or retractable awnings to manage sun exposure on the exterior. We’ll walk you through all of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most sunroom projects take two to four weeks from the start of on-site work. The Betterliving modular system means major components arrive pre-engineered, so we’re not framing from scratch.

In most municipalities, yes. We handle the permitting process for you as part of the project. Requirements vary by city and county.

Absolutely. A well-built sunroom adds usable square footage and is consistently listed among the top home improvements for return on investment.

In many cases, yes. We evaluate the existing structure during your consultation to determine if the deck framing can support a sunroom or needs reinforcement.

The Betterliving 50-year transferable warranty covers the structural components of the sunroom. It transfers to subsequent homeowners, which is a strong selling point if you ever move.
